We colour our canvas and follow, Colour the walls of our deep blue sea, Colour it with.. beautiful dreams.” - Joanne Louise Griffiths

Joanne Louise Griffiths known to fans as Jolo or sometimes JLG, has been beyond the mainstream music radar since she began writing songs and performing on the Liverpool music scene back in the late 80's! A hidden treasure especially if you enjoy feelgood soulful tunes with thought provoking lyrics and positive vibes, Jolo is the songwriter for you!

Jolo' s sound is relaxing, she has a distinctive smooth voice and has been compared to the likes of Karen Carpenter and Joni Mitchell.

The Ep ‘JOLO’ has many influences from the world of blues, reggae and dreamy folk.

‘Lake of Wishes’ is an otherworldly track about manifesting dreams..

‘When You say Goodbye’ is a lamenting bluesy number with ethereal arrangements.

Both songs and 'The Aramaic Prayer' were beautifully co-produced by successful music industry professional Cameron L. Warren.

Jolo' s 2008 album ‘The Here & Now’ smartlink: https://ditto.fm/the-here-now originally released under the project name of ‘The Jetsuns’ and produced by JLG, was described as an ‘oasis of calm and healing. Lovely.’ by Keith Ames from The Musicians Union magazine.  /reviews

Jolo has performed in London many times including at the Jazz Cafe and at The Green Note, she also held twice weekly shows in Spain (Menorca and Lanzarote) between 2015-16.

Jolo released 3 singles in 2020 with music videos including Real Evolution and The Aramaic Prayer /track/2470247/the-aramaic-prayer which is a stunning spiritual collaborative work where she wrote the song & music to Joseph Gregory Hallett's ‘The Aramaic Christian Prayer For The New Age’.  Jolo is not religious but spiritual. These songs are included in the brand new CD release ‘Jolo ep'.

Jolo performed her song ‘Last Train To Paradise’ from the album ‘The Here & Now’ live on Radio Merseyside in 2018 and performed at Liverpool Music Festival  'Folk on the Dock '18 ' and has been interviewed on several community radio stations in Merseyside.

Jolo is headlining at Prohibition Recording Studios in Liverpool on the 15th October 2024 https://www.fatsoma.com/e/fxcxbqal/leman-tunesday-jolo-kelly-cresswell-indigo-twinn?utm_source=social_share&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=social_share..
